This is James, smiling. If you say that's not a smile, wait till you see him frown!
Day 324 - Slippery Rocks
Day 323 - Bombardier Q400
This is the rotor of an Alaska Airlines Bombardier Q400. Luckily, Canada and I like each other, so it took me safely where I wanted to go :)
Day 322 - Wine Shopping
What does a self-respecting foodie do on his day off? Wine shopping, obviously. The next meals that require a decent wine pairing are definitely safe.
Day 321 - Bubble
A soap bubble, making its way from the sink throughout our apartment. Of course, before it could reach the floor, the dog got to it and snapped it up.
Day 320 - Creepy Cat is Creepy
If you didn't have any paranoia yet when coming to the office in the morning, your coworkers will make sure you feel like a giant cat is watching your every move by the end of the day. Wah!
Day 319 - Fight SOPA
Today I worked Mozilla's part of the fight against SOPA, the Stop Online Piracy Act: mozilla.org/sopa.
What is SOPA, you might ask? It's a law intending to establish the first American Internet censorship system. Tomorrow, 11/16, Congress holds hearings on this bill, and the scary thing is: This bill can pass. If it does, the Internet and free speech will never be the same.
Because of the fundamental danger SOPA poses to the civil rights and the core principles of the open Web, Mozilla is joining other leading Internet companies, public interest groups and citizens in opposing the Stop Online Piracy Act in the US House of Representatives. For more information, head over to mozilla.org/sopa and join Mozilla in helping protect the Internet as we know it.
Day 318 - Leafy Shadows
A street light, casting some nice shadows through the leaves of a tree.
So far, I like how my new lens performs, particularly in low light conditions. I also started shooting some of my pictures in RAW format, as it lets me squeeze more contrast out of a picture that might turn out too dark out of the box. Finally, I played with a purple filter here (digital, not optical), which I think it gives the picture an awesome touch.
Day 317 - Abandoned
A seemingly abandoned stroller-gone-shopping-cart in Mountain View. Funnily, I've seen plenty of both: groceries shoe-horned into strollers, and children wheeled around more or less awkwardly in shopping carts. Sounds like there's a market for trading these things (transportation devices, that is, not children). Start-up idea, anyone?
